摘要
美籍华裔女作家伍绮诗的《无声告白》探讨了身份危机、人生成就、种族、性别、家庭以及个人道路等问题。小说中描写了两对母女,反映了她们三代人的生活。虽然两对母女的人生形态截然不同,但结局似乎一样:两个女儿都未能实现自我,她们背叛了自己,也背叛了自己的母亲;两位母亲都永远地失去了自己的爱女。这种命运轮回的悲剧告诉我们:人不能在爱中迷失,而要在爱中成长。
In Everything I Never Told You,Chinese-American woman writer Celeste Ng discusses identification crisis,life achievements,race,gender,family and life path. In this novel,there is a transmigration of tragedy destiny between two mothers and daughters. Two daughters betray themselves as well as their mothers,let alone self-actualization while two mothers lose their beloved daughters forever. This essay discusses the reasons for this tragedy and the sense the novel enlightens： A person should not get lost in love,instead she should grow in love.
