摘要
近代美国驻华外交官、学者柔克义为近来研究热点,其中柔克义藏学研究为柔克义核心环节未有系统讨论,特别是柔克义与欧洲学界的学术渊源以及与13世达赖喇嘛交往的若干细节,存在若干尚待补充的细节。本文在认真研读柔克义青藏高原考察后研究成果以及哈佛大学馆藏柔克义第一手文献的基础上,对上述问题进行了解决。
William Woodville Rockhill, the famous diplomat stationed in China in later period of 19th century, the early Tibetologist in the modem history of the west, has emerged as highlight in academics in China, and in which as a core factor, his studying on Tibetology has never been committed. Especially the relationships between the Rockhill and Europe＇s scholars, and 13th Dalai Lama has some details to add for Rockhill＇s studying. The paper bases on the the Rockhill＇s exploration results on Tibet and his documents stored in libraries in Harvard University. tried to resolve the issues mentioned above.
