摘要
该文基于把世界划分为现实世界和虚拟现实世界,考虑虚拟现实技术、电子游戏、网络游戏在科研中的应用,并借鉴吉姆·格雷的四种研究范式的界定,提出"虚拟科学"或"虚实科学"、"游戏科学"作为科学研究的第五范式,并对这一新的研究范式的定义、要素、功能及其与其他范式的关系进行了初步探讨。虚拟科学的核心特点是使想象力成为受控的想象力、精确的想象力,实现对想象与情景的有效预测、控制和评价。指出虚拟科学具有平台性和通用性,与之结合可提升其他研究范式的能力与适用范围。强调虚拟科学的兴起是云科学革命的重要组成部分,并为迎接虚拟科学时代的到来提出政策建议。
Based on the division of the world into realand virtualones,and considers the use of virtual technology,electronic games and cyber games in scientific research,the paper proposes the concept of"Virtual Science"or"Virtual & Reality Science"or"Game Science"and views it as"The Fifth Paradigm"in borrowing the idea of"The Fourth Paradigm"from Jim Gray.Further,it makes a preliminary discussion on the definition,elements,function of The Fifth Paradigm,and its relation with other four research paradigms.The paper points out that the virtual science can be used as a platform and it has the property of generality,so if the other four research paradigms can combine it within themselves,then the capability and application scope of them will be enhanced and expanded, it also emphasizes that the rise of virtual science is an important part of the Cloud Science Revolution.Finally,some policy recommendations are proposed in this paper to meet the arrival of the Virtual Science era.
