摘要
美国著名女性作家凯特·肖邦以其敏锐的笔触,在她的短篇小说《一小时的故事》中以短短千字讲述了女主人公在得知丈夫遇难后的一个小时里的心路历程。之前对于该小说的探讨主要集中在对文中的修辞手法以及心理描写手段的分析。本文通过及物性系统对小说进行语篇分析,以期能够从这一角度为小说人物的刻画提供客观的理据,为语篇分析的进一步发展提供帮助。
＂The Story of an Hour＂ is a short story written by Kate Chopin in 1894, which describes the emotional reactions and psychological changes of Mrs. Mallard within one hour after she got the news of her husband＇s death. The author＇s wisdom and humor is manifested by her exquisite description, sharp language and distinctive plot. Many studies have been conveyed and are mainly concentrated in symbol, irony, other rhetorical devices and psychological description of the text. This paper gives a discourse analysis on the novel under transitivity system and tries to provide a basis for the description of characters from this perspective.
