Toni Morrison, the first African-American woman writer who won the Nobel Prize for Literature, made unprecedented achievements in the history of American-African literature. Jazz is a typical example to present black people’s aesthetics as story, theme and the language techniques that focus on both oral and written words in the novel show inseparable emotions with their African ancestors while also demonstrate countless ties with modern American civilization which rooted from Europe. Competitions between different cultures and integrated literary exploration are conducive to solve American blacks’ cultural dilemma,to build up self-recognition and even to ensure national harmony and peace.
