摘要
视频会议为外语学习者创造了在真实语境下进行实时跨文化交流的机会。依托外语交际意愿启发性模型,以中日学生跨文化视频会议为例,文章通过问卷调查、访谈及视频文本分析,讨论了视频会议中交际对象、交际背景、交际目的、交际话题及交际媒介等5个因素对外语学习者交际意愿的影响。结果证明:基于视频会议的跨文化交流活动为外语学习者提供了新的互动交流模式,能够多角度提升外语学习者的交际意愿。其中,视频会议作为交际媒介对交际意愿的提升作用最明显。
As a synchronous communication tool, videoconferencing creates more real-time interalcultural communication opportunities for english foreign language (EFL) learners and affect their willingness to communicate (WTC) in the target language. Depending on the heuristic model of variables influencing EFL's WTC as the theoretical framework and taking the cross-cultural videoconferencing between Chinese and Japanese students as example, this study explored five factors of videoconferencing that affect EFL learners' WTC: participants, settings, purposes, topics of communication, and communication channels through employing questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and video text analysis. Results suggested that videoconferencing provided EFL learners a new interactive communication mode to practice the target language, promoted EFL learners' WTC from different angles and was also the most effective communication media in improving WTC.
