摘要
本研究采用定量和定性相结合的方法,探讨了我国大学生英语课堂上的交际意愿水平以及影响英语交际意愿的因素。结果表明,大学生的英语交际意愿总体上较低,女生的交际意愿较男生高,交际意愿与自我知觉的英语水平显著相关,交际意愿在各级英语水平的学生间的差异不显著。定性分析结果显示,影响大学生课堂英语交际意愿的因素可归纳为八项。从文化视角切入分析,本文认为这些因素可以追溯到中国传统文化的影响。
This study examines Chinese university students' levels of willingness to communicate (WTC) in English inside the classroom and explores factors underlying their WTC, utilizing quantitative and qualitative methods. The results indicate that Chinese students exhibit generally low WTC in English and female students are more willing to engage in English communication than their male peers. A positive relationship between WTC in English and self-perceived proficiency is observed but the differences of students' WTC across different English proficiency levels are statistically insignificant. The findings of the qualitative analysis suggest that there are mainly eight factors contributing to WTC in English. From a cultural perspective, it is proposed that such precursors of WTC in English among Chinese students are related to the influence of the traditional Chinese culture.
