摘要
苏州章氏国学讲习会具有浓厚的书院特色,教育内容上坚守朴学传统;教育形式上坚守讲习传统;学术研究上坚守自治传统;师生关系上坚守自由传统。其在国学和国学高等教育方面的自我矛盾表现为四个层面:一是作为特殊高等教育机构独特个性的秉持与丧失;二是以传统的方式实现国学研究和现代国学教育的发展;三是在发展的时代大潮中不断趋向于传统与保守;四是试图用传统文化解决因发展带来的各种问题。
The Academy of Chinese Culture( 1935- 1937) established by Zhang Taiyan in Suzhou is a traditional Chinese institution of higher learning,where students were studying Confucianism through lectures and seminars. The Academy advocated academic freedom and autonomy,emphasizing the importance of empirical evidence for Confucian studies at the same time. However,the school also faced several dilemmas:( 1) how to maintain the individuality of a distinctive higher education institution?( 2) how to promote the development of Chinese culture studies via the traditional institution?( 3) how to remain traditional or conservative amid changing times?( 4) how to solve all the developmental problems by restoring traditional culture and values?
