摘要
随着我国与世界各国在政治、经济、文化等方面的交流越来越密切,汉语国际推广的价值也被越来越多的人所认可,国家也趁热打铁,积极在国际上大力宣传推广汉语。在汉语推广如火如荼的进行中,我们不禁对汉语推广的"推广"及汉推基地中的"基地"两个词的英文翻译进行思考,究竟哪种翻译能够正确表达中国向世界推广汉语的真实意图。本文从国家汉语推广的意图和意义出发,借助中英文词典和网络查询来讨论"推广"和"基地"的英文翻译,力求能够表情达意,准确表达汉语国际推广的目的和意义。
With the frequent political, economic and cultural communication between China and other countries, the significance of the international promotion of the Chinese language has been recognized by more people. The Chinese government takes advantage of this opportunity for the international pro- motion of the Chinese language. Thus, it is worthwhile to have the accurate translation of the Chinese terms ＂Tuiguang＂（which often means promotion） and ＂Jidi＂（ which often means base）. With a con- sideration of the intention and significance of the international promotion of the Chinese language, and with the help of both Chinese and English dictionaries as well as the Internet resources, this research offers some suggestions on the accurate translation of the two terms.
