In the Qin and Han dynasties, Linzi, the center of the Qilu region, was an important area of China's ancient textile production. Due to organic texture of textiles, it is hard to conserve the textiles. Hence, it is difficult for modern people to appreciate the position of textiles in Qin and Han dynasties. It is known from analysis and test of relics of 2 pieces of textiles that, they are vermilion lacquered yearn and linen. The linen is made from cannabis sativa, which was a common bulk fabric in that period. Vermilion lacquered yearn belongs to lacquered textile with function property and decoration property which was first found in archaeological studies on textiles. The two kinds of textiles with different craftsmanship and fiber materials offer rare information for studying textile history in ancient China.
