《纸牌的秘密》是挪威作家乔斯坦·贾德的一部十分重要的作品。在这部小说中,作者突破了传统文学形式的限制,将文学与哲学巧妙地结合了起来。文章认为贾德运用多层嵌套和镜像结构、暴露小说虚构性以及戏拟等写作方法使这部作品从头到尾都显露出了十分强烈的元小说叙事特征,从而使《纸牌的秘密》成为一部不折不扣的具有自我意识的元小说作品。
The Solitaire Mystery is a very important work created by Norwegian writer Jostein Gaard- er, who has successfully integrated philosophy with literature and thus brought about a new form of literature. In this novel, Gaarder employs such techniques as nesting and mirroring narrative struc- ture, laying bare its fictionality as well as parody and finally turns this novel into a real metafiction in which it can be clearly seen that writing is a self-conscious and self-referential process.
