摘要
弗莱克斯纳的现代大学观是大学发展史上的重要里程碑。他认为大学最重要的职能是学术研究,学者应采取纯科学的研究方式进行知识的探索。大学是社会发展不可或缺的重要机构,大学对于社会来说是落后与适应的统一体,因此大学应保持相对的独立,坚守自身操守,方能彰显其自身价值。在大学的组织结构上,他认为大学的机构应规模小、组织简单,以利于学者进行自由地科学研究为导向。现代大学观对我国大学在当今发展中出现的问题具有深刻的启发意义。
Flexner＇s idea of modern university is an important milestone in the history of university development. He thinks that the most important function of university is the research. The function of university is advancing science, and the scholars should adopt the pure research to discover new knowledge. The development of society can＇t live without the university. The university should be a complex organism to show its value through independence to some extent. Flexner thinks that the organism of university should be small and simple,which will benefit for the scholar＇s researching. Flexner＇s idea of modern university plays an important role in the development of our university.
