从中、英作文分析高中学生批判性思维特点 被引量:3

摘要 批判性思维是思维能力的重要组成部分,对国家高素质创新人才的培养需求以及高中学生自身的长远发展至关重要。文章借助Stapleton批判性思维测评模型,分析和对比中国高中学生中、英文写作中的批判性思维。研究结果发现,中国高中学生中文写作和英文写作中都能体现出一定程度数量和质量的批判性思维,在中、英文写作中的批判性思维也存在诸多不同:学生在中文作文中能够提出较为抽象的论点,且能利用多种形式的论据去辩证地分析事物、合理论证论点和表达观点,能够体现出较高的批判性思维;学生在英文写作中非常注意提及对方的观点,论点主要涉及生理需求、安全需求和情感需求三方面,以个人经历和合理解释为主要论据形式;由于受英语语言水平的限制,学生的批判性思维不能在英语作文中得到充分展现,中文作文中的论点、论据及反驳的数量和质量都高于英语作文,在英语作文中谬误更少;同时,长期的模式化写作训练以及英语写作与母语写作的相互影响,学生在中、英文写作过程中的思维过程和论证过程体现出较高的一致性。 As an essential part of thinking ability,critical thinking plays an important role in a country's requirement for high-quality innovative and learned talents as well as in students' personal development. The current study attempts to explore Chinese high school students' critical thinking by analyzing and comparing their Chinese and English writings with Stapleton' (2001) framework. The results suggest that Chinese high school students have a certain grasp of critical thinking in the writings,but the quality and quantity of critical thinking shown in Chinese and English writings varies. In their Chinese writing, they can come up with some abstract arguments and meanwhile, they can sue various arguments to analyze problems dialectically,prove and express their arguments reasonably. Therefore,a comparatively high level of critical thi- nking can be seen from their Chinese writing. However, in their English writing, students prefer to mention others' viewpoints. Arguments involve their physical needs, safety needs and emotional needs. Their personal experience and reasonable explanation serve as the main arguments. Re- stricted by their limited English, students' critical thinking cannot be fully shown in their English writing. The arguments and the disapproval used in their Chinese writing are more and better than those used in their English writing. Nonetheless, there are fewer mistakes in students' English writing. Meanwhile, because of the long - time stereotype writing exercises and the mutual influence of English writing and Chinese writing, students show a relatively high consistency of thinking and argumentation in their Chinese and English writing.
