摘要
本研究运用语料库研究手段,调查高校学生研究者英语学术论文中的概念隐喻和语法隐喻使用情况,以揭示其英语学术话语的隐喻产出能力。结果显示:研究对象概念隐喻模式单一,只会使用拟人化隐喻认知模式;语法隐喻中,名词化语法隐喻使用频率最高,种类齐全;情态语法隐喻使用频率最低,种类单一,基本上是低值概率类的显性客观情态表达;动词化语法隐喻使用频率居中,且主要使用把因果关系看作过程的动词化隐喻。这表明研究对象名词化语法隐喻能力最强,概念隐喻能力、动词化语法隐喻能力和情态语法隐喻能力相对较弱。
This study provides an investigation into the use of conceptual metaphor and grammatical metaphor with a view to revealing university student researchers' productive competence of metaphor through corpusbased analysis. It is found that personification is the only conceptual mode of metaphor that the writers adopt. On the part of grammatical metaphor, while nominalization is used most frequently in all types possible, followed by verbalization in which the causal relation is primarily turned into a process. Metaphor of modality is the least in frequency and exclusively explicit and objective in orientation. The findings demonstrate that EFL student researchers are strong in the use of nominalization and weak in utilizing conceptual metaphor and metaphor of verbalization and modality.
