Objective To understand the hygienic quality of water in swimming pools, analyze the concentration of chlo- rination disinfection byproducts (cDBPs) in swimming pool and the influence factors,so as to provide basis for working out hygienic standards. Methods During June-September,2013,42 swimming pool water samples were collected in 19 swimming pools and 13 pipe water samples were collected at each swimming pool. chloroform, dichloroacetic acid,trichlo- roacetic acid, pH, carbamide, turbidity, total bacterial count, coliform and free chlorine residual were determined. Results The qualification rate of carbamide, total bacterial count and freechlorine residual was respectively 83.3 %, 90.5 % and 64.3 %, and the concentration ofchloroform, dichloroacetic acid, triehloroacetic acid was respectively 0. 045 ± 0. 030 mg/L, 0. 050±0. 018 mg/L,and 0. 031±0. 015 mg/L. Chloroform concentration was correlated positively with turbidity and free chlorine residual, and positive correlation were also found between dichloroacetic acid andcarhamide( P 〈0.01), total bacterial count and coliform bacteria( P 〈0.01). Conclusion The hygienic condition of water in swimming pools is poor in Guangzhoucity. It is suggested to increase the disinfection by-products limits in the national standard, take effective measures to reduce the concentration of disinfection by-products,so as to protect the health of swimmers.
