摘要
本研究采用定量和定性的研究方法调查美国高级汉语学习者第一语言语义迁移在汉语二语积极词汇习得中的作用,汉语学习者在二语词汇运用中所用的策略以及他们对第一语言在二语积极词汇习得中所起的作用的认识。研究结果表明,高年级学习者在二语词汇运用过程中仍十分依赖母语。与汉语母语者相比,在二语词汇运用过程中,他们大多使用直觉进行判断而较少使用其他的策略,尤其是不怎么使用那些需要依据二语语义、语法及语用知识来判断正确使用词语的策略。虽然高级汉语学习者已经形成了母语与相应的二语词语在语义和语用上不完全对等的意识,但是他们相信母语在他们二语词汇习得中仍然起非常重要的作用。
The present study examines the role of English L1 (first language) semantic transfer in the acquisition of Chinese L2 (second language) productive vocabulary by advanced learners, the strategies for productive use of L2 words, and Chinese L2 learners perceptions of their L l's role in L2 productive vocabulary learning. The results of this study suggest that advanced Chinese L2 students still rely heavily on their L1 for mediation in the productive use of Chinese L2 words. Compared with native Chinese speakers, L2 Chinese speakers use fewer strategies and rarely strategies that require L2 word knowledge of the semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic domains in productive vocabulary use. Although L2 Chinese learners have developed awareness of the mismatch between the L1 and L2 syntagmatic domains, they believe that their L1 still plays a fundamental role in their L2 word accluisition.
