Adm. Sun Jianguo elaborates on China's outlook on national security, the concrete measures to realize overall national security and the requirement for the buildup of Chinese military forces.
Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,President Xi Jinping has advanced the distinctive strategic thought of the 'overall national security outlook',further developing and enriching the national security theory with Chinese characteristics.China has been shaping a favorable strategic security environment,and has achieved breakthroughs in building a new type of major- country relationship.China actively makes plans to shape and stabilize the neighborhood,seizes the initiative in safeguarding the territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests,unswervingly implements the 'one country two systems'policy,and firmly protects national political and regime security,thus laying a solid foundation for the nation's lasting stability and prosperity and playing an active role in promoting world peace and development. As a strong backing for national security,and to better carry out the 'overall national security outlook'and safeguard national general security,the PLA centers activities around the goal of building up military strength and enhances modernization and normalization in an all- round way,upholding CPC's leadership,innovating military strategies,promoting operational capabilities,deepening reforms,and tightening disciplinary grip.
