摘要
模糊限制语是新闻语篇中普遍存在的语言现象。模糊限制语使新闻语言的表达更委婉、含蓄、有礼貌,作者借此不仅可以达到适度推测评价、缓和语气,而且也起到了自我保护的语用功效,有助于增强新闻的准确性、客观性和可信度。恰当得体的使用模糊限制语,容易达到最佳的新闻传播目的。
Hedges are widely employed in English news writing,which make news language more euphemistic,implicit and polite.By using hedges,the news reporters can make inferences,soften the tone of the speech and achieve self-protection.In the meantime,hedges help to achieve accuracy,objectivity and credibility of the news.The appropriate use of hedges helps to fulfill the communicative purpose.
