摘要
当代西方女性主义动物伦理是动物伦理建构中的一块"尚未开发但极具潜力的领域",它的滥觞与发展始终围绕以下主题展开:第一,动物具有道德意义;第二,动物伦理应当具有强烈情感色彩;第三,物种主义和性别主义具有同源性;第四,素食具有伦理意义,等等。西方女性主义动物伦理的日趋完善将拨正动物伦理建构中压制女性声音的性别化偏颇,开启女性主义文学研究新视角,普及动物权利意识,促进动物权利运动发展。但它同时也引发了系列困惑:作为一门新近的具有浓厚西方色彩的伦理诉求,它是否会成为西方干预其他文化的合理依据?素食是否意味着将个人的爱好作为一种普适性原则进行推广?鼓吹女人与动物的认同是否成为一种本质主义?以感情取代理智是否建构了感情—理智的二元对立?等等。
Animal studies,now a very prominent trans-disciplinary research area,has inspired the construction of contemporary western animal ethics,of which contemporary feminist animal ethics constitutes an important branch.Despite its diversity and plurality,contemporary feminist animal ethics share the following themes:firstly,animal enjoys moral significance;secondly,emotion is preferred over logic and reason during the construction of the animal ethics;thirdly,the symbiotic relation between speciesism and sexism;fourthly,the moral significance of vegetarianism.Apparently,feminist animal ethics has helped boost the awareness of animal rights and has broadened the horizon of feminist research.However,it has triggered many problems:will animal ethics,a newly-developed western Anglo-Saxon ethics,be seized by the west to justify its interference in other nation's culture?Doesn't vegetarianism mean that a kind of personal dietary preference will be imposed upon the public as a universal rule?Will women's identification with animals be essentialism?Doesn't it mean the construction of another binary opposition when feminists replace reason with emotion?
