摘要
对余嘉锡、姚名达、王重民等关于古典"目录"名义的研究进行回顾与辨析,认为所论均难以成立。以刘向"书录"为切入点,对"目录"一词进行新的解读,认为"目录"是"录目"也就是记录、抄录"目"而来,"录目"由动词而为名词即为"目录",具体又包括记录、抄录一书之"目"与群书之"目"两种情况;"书录"与"目录"均可简称为"录";在刘向、刘歆父子及班固的时代,"书录"与"目录"不可等同。
The article reviews and analyzes the views about original meanings of Mu Lu in ancient China raised by Yu Jia-xi,Yao Ming-da and Wang Zhong-min,and finds out that their thinking does not hold true. So it makes a new probe into the original meaning of Mu Lu,and points out that the word ＂Mu Lu＂ derives from ＂Lu＂ which means to record the ＂Mu＂,titles of articles or books,and Mu Lu is the noun for such recording. The article also points out that Shu Lu and Mu Lu are both called Lu for short;however,they are not equivalent in the era of Liu Xiang,Liu Xin and Ban Gu.
