摘要
我国外语界针对职业英语的研究总体上是"重理论、轻实践,重思辨、轻实证",未见有关职业英语教学效果的实证研究。对职业英语和通用英语两类课程在教材评价和课堂教学效果方面的实验研究发现:职业英语在教材评价、课堂教学效果和英语学习成绩三方面均要显著好于通用英语;不同类型教材导致课堂教学效果和英语学习成绩的明显差异;教材的实用性、趣味性和交际性因素对英语学习成绩具有显著的预测作用。
In order to examine occupational English teaching, the paper has carried out an experimental study and made a detailed comparison between occupational English and General English by means of questionnaires on textbooks and classroom teaching. The main results as follows: OE is significantly better than GE in textbook evaluation, classroom teaching and students’ achievements; classroom teaching and students’ achievements will be obviously different when the course uses different types of textbooks; interesting and practical textbook of this kind with the teaching aim of cultivating students’ communicative competence is a significant predictor of students’ achievements.
