摘要
《午夜之子》中有多种殖民文化意象无不与当时印度所处的历史与文化,经济与政治,民族与宗教等境况息息相关。拉什迪在他一生的创作中反对极端的民族主义和文化霸权主义,在《午夜之子》中各种殖民文化意象隐喻的运用也体现了他希望世界各个民族和平共处,各种文化之间能相互促进,共同繁荣。
Numerous colonial cultural images in Midnight's Children are intimately associated with the history and culture,economy and politics,race and religion at that time in India. In his life,Rushdie opposes the extreme nationalism and cultural hegemonism in his works. The metaphor of multiple colonial cultural images applied in Midnight's Children embodies that he hopes the peoples in the world could coexist with each other peacefully,and different cultures can be promoted mutually so that they could prosper together.
