摘要
自古希腊伊始,关于人是什么的问题的探究不断更新着,没有形成最终定论,这恰恰是哲学的魅力之所在。卡西尔从人类哲学的角度出发,把人看成是符号的动物,只有在人那里,可能性与现实性的问题才能实现。也只有在人那里,神话的、宗教的、语言的、艺术的、历史的和科学的符号才能得以创造和应用。对符号的创造和使用正是人与动物的区别。
Discussion on what man is has been updated since Ancient Greece,but it does not form the similar idea7 That is just an aim of philosophy. Cassirer viewed man as symbolic animal on the item of mankind philosophy. He claimed that only mankind distinguished between＂real＂and＂possible＂,and that only mankind created and developed the symbols of myth,religion,language,art,history,science. Usage and creation of symbols is just differences both mankind and animal.
