Objective To study and analyze effects of traditional surgery and minimally invasive surgery in treating infantile hernia. Methods The clinical data of 100 patients with infantile hernia who received traditional surgical treatment and 120 patients with infantile hernia who received minimally invasive surgical treatment in the hospital from January 2012 to January 2013, were analyzed retrospectively, and general curative effect of patients in the two group and complications after the surgery such as scrotum swelling, were observed and compared. Results The operation time, average bleeding quantity and independent activity time and other aspects of the patients in the observation group after the surgery were signiifcantly less than that of patients in the control group;Patients who received the minimally invasive surgery did not need the hospitalization and they recovered faster; The total incidence of postoperative complications for patients in the observation group was 15.00%, which was obviously lower than that of control group observation group (53.00%), (P〈0.05) which was of statistical signiifcance. Conclusion Compared with traditional surgery, minimally invasive surgery has many advantages such as less bleeding in the surgery, less hurt, faster postoperative recovery and fewer complications and so on, which deserves to be applied widely in the clinic.
