摘要
邓志谟的“争奇小说”《花鸟争奇》、《山水争奇》等篇,是明清小说中面貌十分独特的小说。但它们并非无源之水。本文认为其远源乃是盛行于隋唐时期的论议伎艺,其近源则是民间始终流传有绪的两物争功故事。
Deng Zhimo's ' Novels Vying for Glamour', such as Flowers and Birds Vying for Glamour and Rivers and Mountains Vying for Glamour, are the most unique novels in the Ming & Qing Dynasties. But they are not like water without a source, or a tree without roots. In this article, the writer attempts to explain that the initial origin of such novels is the arguing skill which was very popular during the Sui & Tang period, and that the latest origin is the story of two animals' struggle for merit passed down from generation to generation.
