摘要
美国言情小说《廓桥遗梦》出版后立即风靡全球，在中美大地上出现了一股“廓桥热”，这成为20世纪末一道绚丽的文化风景线。《廓桥遗梦》缘何具有如此魅力。本文认为这首先在于小说所叙述的美丽动人的爱情故事本身，源于爱的悲剧性，爱的激性，爱的真情；其次源于其朴实细腻，可视性，可感性极强的描写艺术，清丽优美，抒情而富有哲理的叙事语言；再次源于天时，地利，人和，即：中美读者所处的不同的社会文化语境，读者阅读时相异的心理趋向和期待视野。
As soon as the American love story The Bridges of Madison County was published, it became popular in the world and A 'bridge craze' spread across America and China. That was a glorious culture horizon at the end of the 20th century. Then what is its charm? This paper argues that its charm lies in the love story itself, the descriptive art and the narrative language as well as the different cultural contexts and expectant views of the Chinese and American readers.
