[Objective]To investigate the Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection in impaired fasting glucose(IFG),impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)and diabetes.[Methods]We observed age,Hpinfection, body mass index, total plasma cholesterol, plasma triglyceride, fasting glucose, plasma creatinine concentration, blood urea nitrogen and hypertension incidence in 114 normal glucose tolerance(NGT),44 IFG/IGT and 42 diabetes mellitus patients who were consecutively referred by general practitioners for routine medical check-up or medical treatment.[Results]Age,Hpinfection, body mass index, plasma triglyceride and plasma creatinine concentration were significant difference between NGT,IFG/IGT and diabetes mellitus group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Hpinfection was taken as a dependent variable and age, sex, body mass index, total cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting glucose, plasma creatinine concentration, blood urea nitrogen and hypertension incidence were taken as independent variables,we found that fasting plasma glucose(β=0.93,P<0.01)and body mass index(β=0.784,P<0.05)were significantly associated with the risk for Hpinfection analyzed by binary logistic regression.[Conclusion]Patients with diabetes mellitus and IFG/IGT were more likely to have Hpinfection, and fasting glucose was associated with Hpinfection.
