In this study pig oocyte natural maturation and the effect of hypoxanthine(HX)on pig oocyte maturation were investigated,and a serum free pig oocyte culture model in vitro was established mimic follicular environment in vivo .The results demonstrated that pig cumulus cell enclosed oocyte(CEO)and denuded oocyte(DO)could resume meiosis spontaneously cultured in the serum free M 199 environment.Hypoxanthine(HX1~4mmol/L)can inhibit the spontaneous resumption dependent on the dose and this inhibitory action was reversible.
