摘要 本文指出数学符号是数学共同体专门约定的一种人工语言符号,是用以表达和交换数学信息的工具,它具有物质性、非相似性、抽象性、精确性、规范性、通用性、自我生成性和开放性的特征.论述了数学符号演变的历史,阐述了它的方法论功能,认为它可以表述和交流数学思想,明化数学问题和简化数学推理,触发人们的创造性思维,便于实现思维的机械操作等.提出了选择数学符号所遵循的基本原则,这些原则是整体性、单义性、简明性、表意性和科学性等. In this paper,we point out that mathematical symbol is anartificial language-symbol specially appointed by mathematical community,andis an instrument used by expressing and interchanging mathematical information.It has the characteristics of substantial,property,non-similarity,abstractness,precision,normativeness,univerality,self-generation and openness.We expoundthe history on the evolution of mathematical symbol and its methodology func-tion,think that it can express and interchange mathematical ideas,make clearand definite the mathematical problems and simplify mathematical inference,and touch off man's creativeness thought for convenience to realize mechanicaloperation.We bring out the followed basic principles to elect mathematicalsymbol which are global property,single meaningfulness,concision,expressi-vity,and scientificalness etc.
