摘要
澳大利亚大学校长在当今时代所需扮演的是多重、复合型的角色。基于对"八校联盟"(即澳大利亚国内八所顶尖公立研究型大学)高校现任校长个人特征的剖析,并结合澳大利亚大学校长的角色定位可以得出如下结论:高校管理的资历与经验、学术成就和声誉、个人影响及与政商界合作的经验、海外经历及国际视野等四方面因素是作为一名澳大利亚大学校长所必须具备的最为基本的个人特征及属性。
Nowadays,Vice-Chancellor fulfills multiple and compound roles in Australian universities. The paper conducts an analysis of the personal characteristics of the present Vice-Chancellors of the Group of Eight （the top eight public research universities in Australia） based on the role definition of Vice-Chancellor in Australia. It is found that the basic personal characteristics that constitute Australian Vice-Chancellors include personal experience in university administration, academic achievement and reputation, personal experience in cooperating with political or business circles, and overseas background and international horizon.
