摘要
《无名的裘德》是哈代的最后一部长篇小说,小说以男主人公裘德的成长为线索,以他与两个女人的感情纠葛为题材,描述了极端的"本我"和"超我"的两种人格特征。裘德的"自我"便在这两个极端中滑行,从艾拉白拉"本我"的肉欲冲动到淑的"超我"的理性情感,最后无法平衡这两个极端而导致悲剧的发生,进而说明人的社会性、人的行为都需要"超我"的社会道德来约束。
Jude the Obscure,Thomas Hardy＇s last novel,deals with the growth of Jude,his emotional involvement with two women and describes the two extremes of the＂libido＂and＂superego＂in human personality.Jude＇s self glides in between Arabella＇s＂libido＂and Sue＇s＂superego＂and finally he fails to keep balance between the extremes.His tragedy proves that human behavior must be restrained by social＂superego＂.
