摘要
纵览1950-1960年代台港地区的各种人文思潮,其中影响最为深远的为民族本位文化思潮、自由主义思潮和现代新儒学思潮。此三种思潮,各有运作的主体和目标,其所触及的主题,既承袭了大陆现代思想文化界争端的某些余绪,复反映出新的历史特征,其内涵往往互呈纠结或冲突之状,由此引发了文化保守主义和“西化”激进主义的长期论战。理性地看,论战双方的理念虽势同水火,其实都包含着现代文化建设不可或缺的要素,只是表现上,未免各执一端。而两者在碰撞中展现的张力和得失,不但直接影响到台港地区的学术走向,也为当下的文化建设提供了可贵的启示。
Among the various humanistic thoughts in Taiwan and H ong Kong regions during 1950s and 60s, the most far-reaching are the national standard of cultural ideas, liberalism, and the modern Neo-Confucianism. These three thought trends, each with its own body of campaign and goal, encompass topics that not only inherit the remaining sphere of the cultural controversy in the China's Mainland before 1949, but also reflect some new characteristics of the times. The content of these trends is usually entangled with or contradictory to each other, leading to a long-term debate between cultural conservatism and "Westernization" radicalism. Rationally speaking, though the ideas from both sides seem to conflict with each other, in fact they both contain the elements essential for modern cultural construction. The tension as well as gain and loss appearing in the collision between both sides not only directly influenced the academic trend in Taiwan and Hong Kong regions, but also provided valuable inspiration for the construction of contemporary culture.
