摘要
城市优势随着城市形态的转变而发生着深刻变化。哈佛大学城市经济学家爱华德·格莱泽(Edward Glaeser)和芝加哥大学城市社会学家特里·克拉克(Terry Clark)分别对美国纽约、芝加哥、洛杉矶、费城、波士顿和底特律等大城市研究后发现,以制造业为代表的传统工业从城市中心撤离或衰竭,而以文化创意和休闲娱乐为主的新兴产业逐渐兴起。大都市的城市形态从生产导向型向消费导向型开始转变,一个新的城市时代已经悄然来临,即以消费为主的后工业城市形态;而这种城市形态的优势体现在:城市作为一种生活场域在吸引高素质人力资本方面的能力。
The competitive advantage of cities shifts when urban morphology has been undergoing profound changes. Edward Glaeser and Terry Clark respectively found after their hard work on American metropolitan research,cultural creativity and entertainment based emerging industry gradually on the rise while the manufacturing sector represented by the traditional industrial evacuated from the city center,such as New York,Chicago,Los Angeles,Philadelphia,Boston,Detroit and other cities in America. Metropolitan urban shifts from production- orientedness to consumer- orientedness. A new urban era is quietly coming. Meanwhile,they noted that the post- industrial era is reflected in the city competitive advantage: the ability to attract high- quality human capital,rather than the traditional industrial production.
