After several times revisions, the guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation was renewed about the compression and ventilation ratio from 5:1 and 15:2 to 30: 2. The changes of the compression and ventilation ratio have always been the focus because it is very important and difficult to keep continuous compression for basic life support. Nowadays, the adverse effects caused by the interruption of the compression have drawn the scholars attention and this paper reviewed the trials for the breakthrough of circulation and respiration, in order to build up the heart and pulmonary resuscitation, cardiac and cerebral resuscitation, the appropriate proportion of circulation and respiratory support
