Objective:To detect the values of CD3, CD4, CD8 and CD4/CD8 of peripheral blood in chil- dren with viral myocarditis, to explore the effect of CD3, CD4, CD8, CD4/CD8 on myocarditis, so as to pro- vide empirical evidence for the research into the pathogenesis of viral myocarditis, its development and treat- ment. Methods:30 cases of children with viral myocarditis at the acute stage were chosen as the experimental group, with 30 cases of healthy children as the controlled group. By means of flow cytometry assay, the values of CD3, CD4, CD8, and CD4/CD8 of peripheral blood in children from both groups were detected respectively; the analysis and comparison were made. Results: The values of CD3, CD4, CD8, CD4/CD8 at the acute stage of viral myocarditis were respectively CD3( % )55.77 -+ 7.0 ; CD4( % ) 11.0 + 5.1 ; CD8( % )41.9 _+ 3.3 ; CD4/CD8 0.26 + 0.1 ; whereas in the controlled group, the results were as follows:CD3( % )71.6 + 8.4;CD4( % )38.5 -+ 4.8 ; CD8( % ) 31.9 + 7.2 ; CD4/CD8 1.25 -+ 0.25 show that the values of CD3, CD4, CD4/CD8 at the acute stage of viral myocarditis decrease, while the value of CD8 increases. The differences were statistically significant ( P 〈 0.01 ). Conclusion: The pathogenesis of viral myocarditis involves the imbalance of cellular immunity(T cells). Cell - mediated immunity play an important role in the incidence and the development of viral myocarditis.
