摘要
英语复合词的形式看似简单,意义建构却是复杂的,并非是词意的"物理叠加",而是一个复杂的心智整合过程。又由于心智整合过程中"文化框架"的介入,英语复合词经整合得到的"浮现意义"与其字面意义相去甚远。语言学家Fauconnier于1994年正式提出概念整合理论,该理论能够很好地揭示出心智整合的本质,并能清晰地展现出英语复合词"非常规"意义建构的动态过程。
The form of the English compounds seems to be simple, but the process of English compounds meaning construction is complicated, not a mechanical one, but one of mental blending. The ＂Emergent Structure＂ of English compound is totally dif-ferent from its literal meaning due to interposing of ＂Cultural Frame＂ in the process of mental blending. Conceptual Blending The-ory, proposed formally by linguist Fauconnier in 1994, can reveal the essence of mental blending and elaborate clearly the dynam-ic process of unconventional meanings emergence.
