Objective To investigate the effects of synchronous health education on rehabilitation of motor function in children with cerebral palsy. Methods Being ranked as GMFCS, 60 children with cerebral palsy consistent with the diagnostic criteria of GMFCS Ⅰ -Ⅲwere screened and randomly divided into therapy or control group. All the children received common health education, but parents of the therapy group were offered synchronous health education based on the condition of the children's motor function. Primary nurses would give parents some special intensive training program and guide parents to participate in training function program during different critical periods in the study. Besides, during the relatively sluggish of children's motor development, nurses would guide parents to consolidate their motor development. Observation time lasted 6 months. Results Before the synchronous health education, the number between therapy group and control group GMFCS Ⅰ children was in the same level. After the synchronous health education, children with rehabilitation therapy group to GMFCS Ⅰ level were significantly more than control group. There were 21 children ranked as GMFCS Ⅰ in therapy group, comparing with 13 in control group. 56 GMFQ increased in both groups. Furthermore, the increased grade in therapy group was significantly more than in control group. Conclusion The synchronous health education has a positive impact on the improvement of motor function in children with cerebral palsy.
