摘要
"麽些"是汉文献中对纳西族的称呼,方国瑜、和志武认为这一他称义为"牧牛人",与历史上纳西族先民"牦牛羌"相关。但从族称命名规律、纳西族与牦牛羌的历史关系、牦牛文化、牛的语义分析来看,这一解释存在诸多疑点。基于纳西族传统文化变迁、东巴象形文字及纳西语的综合考察,"麽些"可释义为"天族"、"天之子民",这一本义与纳西族的祭天传统有着内在的逻辑统一性,是由"祭天人"、"敬天群"的称呼演化而来的。
'Moxie' is the term for Naxi ethnic group in the literature of the Han Dynasty.According to Fang Guoyu and He Zhiwu,this pronoun of discrimination refers to 'cattleman' which is related to the ancestors of the Naxi people,Maoniu Qiang(the Qiang people living on raising yaks).But an analysis of the clan naming law,historical relation between Naxi ethnic group and Maoniu Qiang,yak culture and semantic meaning of cattle shows that their explanation is questionable.After a comprehensive survey of the changes of Naxi's traditional culture,Dongba hieroglyphs and Naxi language,the writer holds that the term 'Moxie' means 'the people of the heaven'.This meaning is logically related to Naxi people's tradition of heaven worship and is evolved from the terms of 'heaven-worshiper' and 'heaven-admirers'.
