摘要
世界可以全球化,经济可以一体化,但文化必须多元化。联合国对世界非遗的保护正是出于对文化多样性的尊重。中国作为世界非遗第一大国,向全世界翻译和介绍非遗对翻译工作者提出了挑战。文章认为非遗英译应归入外宣翻译的范畴,其译介应遵循外宣英译的原则与策略,在译介过程中一方面注意保持语言的多样性,另一方面为"求同"而对非遗原文进行适当编译,为"存异"而采取解释性翻译等方法保留本民族文化特色,使国外受众易于了解、接受、甚至传承和发展我国的非物质文化遗产,以实现联合国所倡导的人类文化多样性发展。
Cultural diversity, an essential part in the development of all mankind, is now greatly chal- lenged by the two strong tendencies of globalization and economic integration, hence drawing great attention from the United Nations to take measures to protect the world intangible cultural heritages. China, as a country bound in intangible cultural heritages, shall play its part in the translation and promotion of these heritages to the whole world. The ,paper holds that the C-E translation of in translation for foreign publicity and by no means an absolutely tangible cultural heritage is a special kind of faithful kind of translation. To seek common points, the translator shall properly adapt the source text to meet foreign audience＇ s needs, and to reserve cul- tural differences, interpretive translation methods are to be employed to ensure cultural diversity. Only by so doing, the target language can both maintain the local flavor and facilitate the understanding of foreign audience, thus spreading our intangible cultural heritages to the world in a wider and better manner.
