美国院校研究的过去、现在和未来——基于高等教育发展的视角 被引量:20

The Past,Present and Future of American Institutional Research

摘要 本文从高等教育发展的角度对美国院校研究的兴起、功能、范畴、技术、方法、智能体系、组织结构、人员技能以及研究绩效等进行了阐述。美国院校研究在过去半个世纪除了规模、范畴等方面得以进一步拓展外,最大的变化是院校研究对大学决策的支持力度明显增强以及院校智能体系的建设能力大幅度提升。不仅如此,从宏观发展的角度来看,美国院校研究在内容上,会进一步加强教育质量的评估与研究;在功能上,会强化对大学决策和长远规划的支持力度;在技术和数据分析上,会更多地采纳先进的"商业智能"和数据挖掘方法;在职业化方面,会通过多种渠道培养专业人士。本研究建议,为了制定更加有效和有持续性的政策,中国高校应切实推进院校研究的发展速度。 This study examines the roles, scope, technology, methodologies, intelligence system, organiza tional structure, and effectiveness of institutional research from the perspective of American higher education development. In the past several decades, the most impressive changes in institutional research have been the increasing support for decision making process and capabilities in developing higher education intelligence systems. In the future, American IR will more focus on educational quality evaluation, further enhance support for decision making, adopt more techniques of business intelli gence and data mining, and offer more professional training opportunities for IR practitioners. The study suggests that to make more effective policies, China's universities should advance greatly in ap plication of institutional research in decision making.
