摘要
幽默作为各种文化及语言的中心部分,在人际交往中起着十分重要的作用。语言幽默与修辞手段密切相关,而双关则是重要的修辞手段之一。交际者利用双关,将某个词或短语的双层及多层含义巧妙地表达出来,从而产生诙谐生动的语言效果。有意识地关注该修辞手段,可以在很大程度上更好地提高英语幽默的理解能力和欣赏能力。
As a central part of all cultures and languages, humor is of great importance in people＇s social communication. The humorous language has a close relationship with rhetorical devices. Pun is an important rhetorical form in which speakers cleverly use a single word or a phrase to suggest two or more layers of different meanings. As a result, humorous and lively language effects can be created. A clear consciousness of this rhetorical device will, to a great extent, enhance people＇s ability to understand and appreciate English humor better.
