摘要
先秦哲学集大成者荀子的学说蕴涵着丰富的敬畏思想。敬而顺之的天人思想不仅是人类的伦理义务和责任,而且是人类自身生命情感的需要和追求;敬而畏之的君道思想和畏而爱之的民本思想是稳定、和谐、有序的社会秩序的一种构想,也是对儒家政治伦理的一种补充与拓展。荀子的敬畏思想彰显了他对传统天人关系的拷问与反思,对人类生存方式的焦虑与探求,同时也具有鲜明的现代价值,为迷失在功利主义、物质主义泥沼里的现代人,提示走出迷途的方向,更为当下构建和谐社会提供了理论资源。
＂Thought of Awe＂ is a kind of moral emotion and religious feelings. It is to realize the mankind＇ s life values, establish a harmonious and orderly social order for purpose. Hsun Tzu＇ s doctrine which was the pre-qin philosophy syn- thesizer contained thought of awe. These thoughts have distinct modern implication. They demonstrate Hsun Tzu＇ s recol- lection of the traditional relationship between human and nature and anxiety and exploration of human survival way, direct a way for modern people who are lost in utilitarianism and materialism, and provide theoretical resource for modern society.
