摘要
《左传》是先秦时期的重要典籍,以往学者的研究主要集中在训诂字词、作注作笺、阐发经义、考证史事、解读思想文化等方面,多囿于传统《左传》学的研究方式。王和先生转换思路,其新著《左传探源》对《左传》的史料来源详加考证。《左传》文本来源不一:包括史官的私人笔记、战国流行的传闻传说、后代经师的增益,等等。《左传探源》从整体上对《左传》的全部文字来源作通盘考察,这在《左传》学研究上是首次,也是将中国古典文献与外国史学理论接轨的一次成功尝试,对厘清史实,把握《左传》原貌,认识古书的生成演变过程及左氏在叙事中的思想倾向等,都具有重要的学术意义。
Zuo Zhuan(《左传》)is an important classic written in the pre-Qin period.Previous studies mainly focus on explaining the classics,studying the historical events,and interpreting ideology and culture,which are traditional methods of studying Zuo Zhuan.Wang He changes the train of thought and in his new book,Exploring the Source of Zuo Zhuan’s Record(《左传探源》),he conducts textual research on ZuoZhuan’s source of historical materials.He points out that ZuoZhuan’s record came from official historians’private notes,rumors and legends which were popular in the Warring States period,the supplements of posterity and so on.The book investigates the entire textual sources of Zuo Zhuan,which is the first in the study of Zuo Zhuan.It is also a successful attempt to connect Chinese classical literature with Western historical theories.It helps us clarify the historical facts,recognize the original appearance of Zuo Zhuan,understand the formation process of ancient books and the ideological tendency of Zuo Zhuan’s author in narration.
