摘要
本研究从3个角度即词汇多样性、词汇复杂性和词汇密度,揭示英语专业学生一至四年级写作中反映的产出性词汇的历时变化。通过研究发现,随着英语学习的深入,词汇多样性和词汇复杂性增长到一定程度后,会停滞不前,而词汇密度则保持了持续的增长态势。
The present research carries out a longitudinal study to discover the productive vocabulary capacity of English major students based on three parameters including lexical variation, lexical sophistication and lexical density. It reports that the lexical variation, lexical sophistication and lexical density all keep expanding as long as the language proficiency levels become higher, but the indices of lexical variation and lexical sophistication stop increasing and even appear decreasing once the learners' language proficiency reach to a certain level; on the contrary lexical density shows continuously rising.
