Through the field work on the Christians in Panxi Town, Huaning County, Yunnan Province, it is found that the local Christians tend to be nervous and anxious in the form of dream during the ancestry worship times like "Ghost Festival". It is argued that the "competitions in rituals", which have lasted for over 400 years, remain since the introduction of Christianity into China three times in late Ming Dynasty. It is held that cultural symbols contain socially acceptable public meanings and can help ease the tensions.
