During the Cold War, India had always been indifferent to Indonesia except for a short time of friendliness. After the Cold War, the relationship began gradually getting better and more and more close. This is mainly due to mutual desire to promote their respective economy, face untraditional safety threat and counterbalance China through their cooperation. Besides, India hoped to enlarge and enhance the achievement of "Look East" Policy with the help of Indonesia. Without fundamental interest conflict, their relationship will continue to get much better.
