摘要
从东方主义的角度看,《蝴蝶君》对东方女性刻板化印象的解构具有重要意义。在"东方主义"无意识地影响下,身为华裔作家的黄哲伦还是没有能够摆脱对"东方主义"的暗合,或者说建构。东方主义所特有的字典编纂式和制度化的强化效果,使黄哲伦的个人思考无法摆脱东方主义的知识机制,因此他的剧作有东方主义的痕迹甚至在某些方面无意识地建构了"东方主义"。
This paper is intended for an analysis of the importance that the conscious deconstruction of stereotyped eastern female images in M. Butterfly has and meanwhile, it also makes an analysis of the unconscious construction of Orientalism that David Henry Hwang as an American mainstream playwright has tried. Under the unconscious influence of Orientalism inclusive of its lexical and systematic effect, David Henry Hwang as an American Chinese fails to rid himself of tallying with Orientalism, or rather, of its construction. Due to the said influence Hwang's personal thinking cannot be kept away from the mechanism of Oriental knowledge structure. That is why the traces of Orientalism and his conscious construction of Orientalism can be identified somewhere in his famous play M. Butterfly.
