The effects of five pesticides viz.omethoate,rogor,imidacloprid,pirimiphos-ethyl and vamidothion on the physiological and biochemistry characteristics of Dendrocalamopsis oldhami damaged by Bambusaspis notabile were studied. The results showed that there was significant difference in water content between the control and D.oldhami damaged by B.notabile affected by five pesticides;omethoate and pirimiphos-ethyl had strongest effects;in the effect of chlorophyll,in spite of the damage of B.notabile or not, there were great significant difference among various pesticides and the control in SPAD value, which demonstrated that the leaves of D.oldhami were sensitive to pesticides;in the effect of proline content, there were great significant differences among various pesticides and the control with the damage of B.notabile, but there were great significant differences between omethoate or pirimiphos-ethyl only and the control without the damage of B.notabile;in the effect of MDA,there were great significant differences among various pesticides except imidacloprid and the control;in the effect of POD,in spite of the damage of B.notabile or not, there were great significant differences between the pesticids and the control in the 9th day(higher than the control). In general, there were differences among various pesticides affected D.oldhami.In this experiment,of the five pesticides, omethoate and pirimiphos-ethyl had strongest effects, follow were rogor and vamidothion, and imidacloprid was a relative safe pesticide.
