摘要
本研究纵向调查了2000-2009年间我国8种外语类主要期刊外语教学论文中统计分析方法的使用特点。研究的主要发现如下:(1)使用的统计分析方法以简单推理统计为主,纯描述性统计使用率总体呈下降之势,多元统计使用率有微弱增长的迹象;(2)较之于前阶段(2000-2004年),后阶段(2005-2009年)纯描述性统计报告的完整性和图表使用率有一定程度提高,但是数据挖掘不够彻底;(3)简单推理统计和多元统计的使用在前、后阶段均存在问题,主要包括误解、误用和简化统计检验形式等。
This study is a longitudinal survey of the statistical methods used in the papers on EFL teaching published in 8 key Chinese EFL journals from 2000 through 2009. It reveals the following major findings. ( 1 ) Simple inferential statistics is most frequently used. The use of purely descriptive statistics presents a roughly downward tendency, where- as the use of multivariate statistics increases slightly. (2) With respect to purely descriptive statistics, the completeness of statistical reports and use of tables/graphs improve, but the data mining in the latter period (2005-2009) is not as thorough as in the former (2000-2004). (3) Problems arise in the use of simple inferential and multivariate statistics in both the former and latter periods, including misconceptions, misuses and simplifications of statistical tests.
