摘要 随着全球化的不断推进,世界各地人们的沟通联系比以往更为紧密。中国也吸引着越来越多的海外游客前来观光旅游,从而使得汉语旅游外宣资料英译的重要性日益凸显。而恰到好处的引文不仅有利于中国旅游业走向国际市场,更有助于中国传统文化的传播,从而加强各民族之间的交流与了解,提升中国的国际形象。但是,当前对于旅游外宣资料的翻译并不够理想。很多译文中存在着使国外游客不能理解或是误解的错误,甚至于对中国形象造成伤害。由于旅游外宣材料具有信息功能和感召功能,这就需要有固定的准则来实现对其翻译的最好效果。 With the increasingly rapid process of globalization,people all over the world communicate with each other more frequently than ever. China attracts an increasing number of international tourists,which makes the translation of Chinese tourism publicity materials more and more significant. Tourism materials translation,if properly done,can not only expand China’s inbound tourism, but also play a major role in building new bridges of understanding between China and rest of the world,which can ultimately enhance China’s global profile. However,the status quo of Chinese-English translation of tourism publicity materials is far from being satisfactory,and there are really many errors in the translation,which may confuse or mislead the foreigners and deface the image of our country. Because of the informative and operative characteristics of tourism publicity materials,the translation demands fixed rules to achieve the best effect.
